Sungba’ is the second song housed under Asake’s ‘Ololade Asake’ extended play.

The newcomer blends Yoruba gospel and fuji influences over bouncy beats throughout his debut EP, Ololade Asake, to dwell on his unfolding path and convey heavenly appreciation—no surprises there, for an act with a name rooted in oriki (Yoruba praise poetry).

Because Afrobeats is fundamentally spiritual, and the YBNL label remains one of the genre’s most revered temples, Asake takes on the role of worship leader on “Trabaye,” which includes a brief sermon from label boss Olamide, who introduces his newly signed to the world and the ladies.
