In a commendable effort to address healthcare disparities and uplift the marginalized in society,
the Rastafari Council of Ghana Women’s Commission, the Women’s arm of the Rastafari Council of Ghana joined hands with two notable humanitarian organizations namely Connect the Youth Foundation and 99 Wings of Hope to bring to the children and mothers of Amanfrom Zongo, an activity dubbed “Healthy Community Drive”.
Recognizing the urgency of addressing the limited access to essential healthcare services of members of this community, the Women’s Commission saw the need to live the Rastafari Creed of caring for the sick and infants, as the best way to celebrate the 131st Earthstrong of His Imperial Majesty the King of Kings of Ethiopia, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Elect of God, Emperor Ras Tafari Makonnen Woldemikael Haile Selassie I.
The event which began with an interactive breast cancer awareness talk by the CEO of 99 Wings of Hope, lasted all day and witnessed a remarkably high turnout despite the continuous rain throughout the day.
The Women’s Commission is grateful to all who in diverse ways made this event a success. Massive love and respect to Kojo Kombolo for his unwavering love and efforts to support the youth through Connect the Youth Foundation and the CEO of 99 Wings of Hope for her relentless effort to make breast cancer awareness, early detection and treatment a priority.
The “Healthy Community Drive” program stands as a testament to the power of collective compassion and the transformative potential of community-driven initiatives. By extending a helping hand to the Amanfrom community, this program is breaking barriers and building bridges towards a healthier, more equitable future.
