CEO of Supreme Africa Limited,Mr. Jackson Osei Darko has expressed worry over an alleged bribery scandal involving the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Public Relations Officer,Mr. George Quaye. The CEO iterated that George Quaye’s comment on some gospel artiste offering bribes or chasing him for favor to win awards is indeed derogatory and sad heartening.

In his own words..’..George is a very big coward, you cannot even mention their names…and yet in your own office you take bribes..’
The Artiste and record label manager continued to say,’…those artiste complaining and others who have remained silent should return the awards they have received from the VGMA Organizers.
Speaking in an interview at the Supreme Africa office, Mr. Jackson Osei Darko noted that the VGMA has lost its credibility as the biggest and most well organized awards event and demands that George Quaye step down if he is not ready to mention names.
In addition,’..George Quaye should be arrested and all sponsors of the VGMA should come on board to investigate the matter..His detrimental statement has tarnished the VGMA totally….I want to ask George one question…Did gospel Artiste like Gifty Osei,Obaapa Christy, OhemaaMercy,CeceliaMarfo,NO TRIBE among others pay before their award was given to them..?’
The likes of Kwaisey Pee and Prince Fimprong (Frimprince Production) and others have all raised alleged cases of bribery in connection with the awards.
George Quaye who is the head of communications for Charter House and host of the award-winning ‘The Pundits’ show which airs on GH One Television is now in hot water. Frankly, almost all the industry and media critics are very much disappointed at the VGMA Board for failing to comment over the matter.
