Ahead of his upcoming concert on March 10, Rapper M.anifest spoke to BBC Africa‘s Veronique Edwards.

He spoke about not making submissions for the 2018 Ghana Music Awards, musical influences, latest projects and a lot more.

M. Dot won ‘Best Rapper of the Year‘ and ‘Hip Hop Song of the Year‘ at the 2017 edition of the awards scheme.

Ghanaian rapper M.anifest, in late February 2018 met American Rap Legend, Rakim in New York, United States of America.

M. Dot shared a photo on himself and Rakim on Instagram with the caption: “Last night. Rakim Allah. The god.”

Born William Michael Griffin Jr., Rakim is widely regarded as one of the most influential and most skilled MCs of all time.

He is one half of golden age hip hop duo Eric B. & Rakim.

In 2012, The Source ranked him #1 on their list of the ‘Top 50 Lyricists of All Time.’

Prior to meeting Rakim, the godMC visited the New York office of streaming service, TIDAL, owned by Mogul Jay Z.

Details of the meeting are unknown at the moment. The rapper, however asked his fans to “watch this space.”

M. Dot met Elliott Wilson, Editorial Director, Culture and Content, Hip Hop at the streaming service, and also Paley Martin, a member of the content and editorial team at TIDAL.

Martin tweeted that the rapper stopped by the office to “spread some good vibes and clue us in on his music + what’s happening in the music scene in Ghana.”

TIDAL is a music streaming service that connects artists with fans through the best High Fidelity sound quality and expertly curated editorial.

In the past months, the company has stepped up efforts to promote Afrobeats and the works of African artistes.
