The musician is angry and disappointed that out of his three nomination, he left the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) Saturday night, with nothing.

Ras Kuuku, known in real life as Kojo Kurankye, stormed out of the awards event alleging that he had been cheated.

The ‘Nokre’ hit singer, who was nominated for the ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ award believes that he deserved the award and not Stonebwoy who was announced winner of that category.

He also received nominations in the Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year and Best Collaboration of the Year all for his hit song, ‘Nwansina’.

Ras Kuuku explained on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM with KMJ that he “was very disappointed” because he worked very hard, released a big song, ‘Nwansina’ and also performed at all the big shows in the country.

He noted that his fans voted and “they all knew we were coming home with, if not all the three, [at least] one award.”

Asked if he has evidence to back his claims that his fans voted massively for him, the reggae artiste explained that, he has pictures to support his assertion.

“I’ve got a lot of pictures on my phone concerning the voting, people take screenshots and send it to me. Every day I can receive more than 400 messages. My phone even jammed.” He beieves he didn’t even receive most of the messages.

He said he was convinced his fans “jammed the machine” because of “too much voting.”

Touching on why he walked out of the awards, Ras Kuuku explained that, “I got to know that I [have been] cheated and there was nothing for me to do than to go out because I got angry… everybody can become angry when they are cheated.”

According to him, his manager was equally angry about the development so he advised that they both exit the awards.

“I also deserve [the award] … people who organised the awards must know that…we worked,” he stressed although he congratulated Stonebwoy for winning.
