The Ghana Music Week Festival (GMWF) is an annual event which is organized by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) festival and this is used to celebrate Ghanaian music. The third edition was organized this year and a concert which was dubbed “MTN GH All-Star Live” was held on the March 7, 2015 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The concert which was publicized with much information being disseminated via the internet, radio and television ended on a bad note due to poor organization. Patoranking
, the Nigerian superstar billed to perform at the 2015 edition of the event as the International act, who has been in town for over 12 hours prior to the event, didn’t get the chance to perform and was given a fact less excuse from organizers about power fluctuation.
The organizers claimed the generator they were running on couldn’t sustain the show for more hours which lead to the cut-in of performances from various big acts such as Samini, Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba who performed for less than 15 minutes each, which is unusual of such acts.
And the worst of it all, Patoranking and Amekye Dede not performing at all, which led to massive fans who turned out left home with disappointments. Patoranking on the other hand expressed his heartfelt disappointment about the show which happens to be his first Major show in Ghana, a show in which he planned to meet his lovely Ghanaian fans for the first time.
What a bad name for Ghana Showbiz.
