FOCAP is calling on parliamentary select committee on finance for the accountability of the GH COVID 19 Tracker App launch.
Foudation Of Concerned Arts Professionals(FOCAP), has follwed with keen interest the development surrounding the recent launch of the Gh covid 19 tracker app and the virtual concert that followed up.
Focap as an advocacy and pressure group finds it worrying the level of miscommunication and deceit on the part of Government and the level of incompetence exhibited from the creative arts leadership to come clean on whether they paid our valued artists who performed during the launch of the covid 19 tracker.
Check Out : Black Sherif – Cry For Me (Prod by Unda Beat)
Indeed it’s appalling and disappointing to have government officials telling us and insisting they never paid a dime to the said musicians who participated during the substandard virtual concert yet the very same musicians are telling Ghanaians they were paid an alleged amount of five thousand Ghana cedis for fuel.
In fact a member of the Government and an appointee of the National Commission on Culture, Socrates Safo has collaborated what the Artist said by confirming that he took envelopes containing monies from the Ghana Tourism Authority “G.T.A” which is also a Government body and gave it to these artist personally.
To add up to the confusion the Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Hon. Rockson Nelson Dafiamepkor disclosed that an amount of 1.4million Ghana Cedis was spent on the entire Event.
Whiles FOCAP sees this as very unfortunate and disturbing to the Creative arts industry, we believe accountability should be our hallmark in times and situations like this.
FOCAP recalls instances where Government have not been accountable but rather brushed of questions raised with regards to major activities like AFRIMA and its 4.5 million dollar deal which was abrogated, a budget allocation of 2.4 million Ghana cedis for a Creative Council that has no Legal Backing, master Classes brouhaha, sponsorship of overseas trips of an illegal Council and a host of others.
If government cannot be accountable and open to the very people they are serving then it leaves much to be desired.
FOCAP is beginning to believe that the Creative industry is being used by some individuals in government to enrich themselves if not why then are they refusing to account to us just like they do account to other sectors.
We cannot allow the creative arts industry to be insulted in this manner by lying to the industry with peanuts as fuel and insulting the intelligence of the industry with lies of not paying our Respected Artists.
FOCAP is therefore pleading with the Parliamentary Select Committee on
Finance to investigate these issues to help the Creative Sector rest on this matter.

‘Like That’ is centred around a laid back Afrobeat rhythm, with GoldKay’s melody-rich vocal delivery punctuated with chorus hooks from the aptly named Captain Hook – resulting in a smooth, radio friendly jam nicely timed for sunnier times. The love song which was inspired by a memorable holiday GoldKay enjoyed before recent events took hold across the world. Harking back to those times he explains:
“As we are approaching summer, the Afroswing vibe gives it that holiday feel, lifting spirits during this difficult time. It gives the listener room to imagine or place themselves in this holiday story.”

Fast rising Hip-Hop artist, Blackway is looking for a repeat of his 2019 success, except this time around he’s getting help from Hip-Hop legend, Busta Rhymes on his new song ‘Intense’. The song is available globally for streaming here: https://sl.onerpm.com/1204705172
Last year Blackway saw his hit record ‘What’s Up Danger’ off the Grammy-nominated soundtrack for ”Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse” received a RIAA certified Gold plaque after selling over 500,000 units in the US alone. After dropping a few speaker knocking singles to end 2019, Blackway spent the first four months of 2020 back home in Ghana recording music and entertaining fans with viral freestyles and EP snippets showcasing his rap skills.

Now to celebrate his birthday, the New York based artist is finally dropping his first single of 2020 and is reminding everyone why he’s considered one of the top lyricists not only from Ghana, but in all of Africa. It couldn’t have come at a better time! While recording in Ghana, Blackway recruited a few of the big Ghanian Hip-Hop acts like E.L and M.anifest for his upcoming EP ”New Yhana 2” fully programmed by buzzing producer, Mike Millz. With one more open verse to complete the project, Blackway reached out to Busta Rhymes, seeing an opportunity to not only rap with one of his inspirations but also reintroduce the legend he grew up listening to back to the African Hip-Hop scene.
Blackway shares: ”Collaborating with Busta Rhymes was a dope learning experience for me. Every studio session we’d drink Hennessy and he would start dropping jewels about the the industry and just music over all. We have three songs together right now. The other two are gonna be on his upcoming album”. ”Also, I’m an early 90s born who grew up on classic Busta records so this has been on my bucket list since I start rapping in middle school”, he adds.
The drill influenced club banger features Blackway throwing off clever punchlines and wordplay amidst some fast-paced lyricism from Busta Rhymes. The single is definitely an INTENSE display of rap ability and seems like the perfect collaboration that we never knew we needed. This is straight Hip-Hop and not for the weakhearted. It’s a solid addition to your playlists.
