Deeler B’s M16 Riddim Album Project Cops 4 Artiste Nationals, Comes Out This Weekend

Deeler B's M16 Riddim Album Project Cops 4 Artiste Nationals, Comes Out This Weekend
Deeler B’s M16 Riddim Album Project Cops 4 Artiste Nationals, Comes Out This Weekend

Zimbabwean music producer Deeler B has officially sealed the opening on his M16 riddim project and has scheduled the release date to this Saturday’s early morn at 6 hours.

This project is Dealer’s maiden various artiste collection release. It was initially meant to clock in a select few reggae-dancehall artistes from over seven African countries, but due to the long delay by the extremely busy artistes the tracklist seal had to be to folded up at the fifth country count, confining the seal to Zimbabwe, Ghana, South Sudan, Gambia and South Africa.

To treat his project artistes to two M16 taste options or better still challenge them to hop twice on the project, Deeler dichotomized the riddim, cooking it in two different flavours: M16 Riddim flavour 1 and flavour 2. Not that whoever made a single hop skipped the challenge but he or she deemed one track a fair feat instead of forcibly squeezing their very busy schedule to work twin tracks for their dear Deeler.

Only Vicvado beat the twin-record challenge by voicing on each flavour, but Deeler B as the producer and the creator of the riddim wouldn’t miss out on the tracklist —- he jumped on the riddim as well with the project signature track, titling it as M16. According to Deeler, M16 refers to a top-notch party-hard girl that ignites the life of the club with her liveliness, fashion and exotic dance moves, sort of a gun

The tracklist is detailed is laced with the following artistes: [from ZIMBABWE: DEELER B, DEVOXX, IROOT, VICVADO, SILENT ART, ], [GHANA: EUNI MELO, QUEEN RUKI, ASA AFRICA, RAJA FLAME], [GAMBIA: MAD DOT], SOUTH SUDAN: DANIEL and SOUTH AFRICA: PUDI MONTANA].

TRACKLIST:
DEELER B – M16
SILENT ART – Bait T4s
DEVOXX – It’s Okay
RAJA FLAME – Banana
VICVADO – Conueror
VICVADO – Strength
PUDI MONTANA – Need You
EUNI MELO – Til Death
QUEEN RUKI – Jah Time
IROOT – Real Revolutionary Love
ASA AFRICA – Party And Friends
DANIEL – Carolina
MAD DOT – Wine For Me

Kuukua Eshun : Let’s Talk About Mental Health Within The African Community.

Kuukua Eshun : Let’s Talk About Mental Health Within The African Community.
Kuukua Eshun : Let’s Talk About Mental Health Within The African Community.

Intro about mental health.

What comes to mind when you hear “Mental health?” Perhaps psychiatric hospital? “Mad” people running the streets? Horrific stories about mentally ill people attacking you or someone you know?
As a community, we need to redefine the way we view mental health and the impact it has on us.
Mental health simply refers to the well-being of our psychological and emotional state; Which includes but is not limited to, how we feel, think and act. Mental health affects our everyday life and our decision making.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eb0ZV6TlzpA&feature=youtu.be

A lot of people find it shameful to admit that they struggle with mental health issues: and on the other hand, some people stray away from the topic in hopes that by ignoring it, their mental and emotional health issues will disappear, others do not even believe mental health is real at all.

However, I think we can all agree that, our African/ Black communities do not talk about mental health.
It is critical for the African community to understand the process of mental health illness. It’s imperative to admit that mental health is real and should be addressed. Often at time, the experience of the African individual is a singular one. One of the biggest factors that influences mental health is the fact that we often feel pressured to paint a perfect picture of our lives to the world around us.

How social media affects mental health.

That is to say, Living in a time where social media is practically taking over most people’s lives, it has become such a difficult task for one to appreciate and concentrate on one’s own life. I say this because, most people are dissatisfied with their lives due to constantly comparing themselves to other people’s success.

Although, most people will not admit it, almost every single one of us deal with some sort of mental health issues on a daily basis.
● anxiety disorders (very common in most people )
● mood disorders like depression, mood swings and bipolar disorder
● schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders
● obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
● attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which is common in children and teens, and adults as well.
● eating disorders
● Alzheimer’s disease

Moreover, it is crucial to understand that most people experience the mental illnesses I’ve listed above.
There is a clear distinction between the mind and body but the real danger is when we separate our Mental health from our physical health.
Not only is struggling with mental health physically draining, it also substantially interferes with or limits your ability to live your life freely. This is what often causes many people to commit suicide. It is difficult to separate the mind from the body.

Not to mention, In a Situational Analysis done by World Health Organization (WHO),
“It is estimated that out of 21.6 million people living in Ghana, 650,000 are suffering from a severe mental disorder and further 2,166,000 are suffering from a moderate to mild mental disorder. The treatment gap is 98% of the total population expected to have a mental disorder.” (W.H.O)

Many people are suffering and as a community, we need to come together and fight mental health.

How having parents who are not educated on the topic of mental health can affect you.

Having said that, raising awareness about mental health should start from home. Some of our African parents are ignorant when it comes to the extent of mental health issues like; anxiety, depression, mood swings, ADHD and many others are not even acknowledged in most African homes. Like I’ve already mentioned, mental health affects your everyday life. From your relationship with the people around you to school grades, self doubt, self esteem problems, fear of failure, it can even be as extreme as hating yourself and your life, it can affect your diet and even sleep schedule. African parents mostly tend to think their children are lazy or are incapable of being an ideal child. Be advised that, It is extremely difficult to live or be around a person suffering from mental illness if you’re not educated on the topic.

How gender roles affects mental health.

In addition, the struggle with mental health is even more pronounced When gender rule is thrown into the mist. In Africa, men are taught to be “masculine” and to max their emotions and on the other hand, women are taught to be fragile and submissive beings. It is no surprise that men have higher suicide rates. Being a man doesn’t mean you shouldn’t express your emotions to the point where it affects your mental health.
Men are scared of being seen as weak and this is why they rather not talk about their mental health struggles whiles women are seen as “too soft” when they open up about their emotional or mental issues.
According to research, women are more likely to talk about their mental health struggles than men do. There is so many factors that plays a role when it comes to mental health and our community.

What can be done in order to decrease mental health issues within our communities.

Nonetheless, we need to set up more organizations and collectives that will consistently create a safe space for mental health discussions to be held a few times in a month. This will encourage more people to share their stories and experiences without fear or doubts of being judged due to the stigma against people struggling with mental health.
It will also help to build a strong network of African/ black communities who will support and help each other grow. It is important to establish a collaborative definition of what mental health looks like to each Individual. The one thing people suffering from mental health need to remember is, there is hope.
People struggling with mental health need to be attentive enough to realize that, if you don’t fight it, you’re probably adding to it.
There are lots of things you can do to improve your mental health, like; The company you find yourself in can either worsen your mental state or improve it, feeding your brain with nothing but positive thoughts can help one feel better as well.
Also, watching the kinds of foods you take into your body. Whatever food one consumes is what feeds the brain.
Activities like reading, writing, painting, going out to socialize, working out and many more can help a person suffering from mental health feel better.

Looking into these systems will reveal how our mental and emotional health affects our everyday life!

Reggie Rockstone indeed made a perfect choice with the two young chaps on “Happy Day.”

“I was vibing with it for a while but still couldn’t find a home for it because it has a West Indian Jamrock reggae vibe, at the same time, a West African feel in there! The music and the vibes fit so well like bolt and nut; what better day to release all of this?? Happy Day?? My birthday of course!!! I don’t celebrate birthdays anymore so the most I can do is to share music with all! Feel good music, because music feels good”, excited Reggie Rockstone says.

He further reiterated that, the song was done essentially to “showcase brand new talent, Nation while sparring with my bredren Epixode (one of the best out there and here), KasaRock fire drill be this lol! More to come plus a huge surprise!”

11:11 on the dot we shall give all to the people! “Video is courtesy of our label cousin Twisted Eye, shot by brother Jesse”, Reggie Rockstone added.

Gospel Singer, Magdalene Set To Release Her Debut Single ‘I’ll Run To You’

Gospel Singer, Magdalene Set To Release He Debut Single ‘I’ll Run To You’
Gospel Singer, Magdalene Set To Release He Debut Single ‘I’ll Run To You’

Magdalene Mamle Combarieu’s Biography.

As a fashion stylist Magdalene is extremely knowledgeable about fashion trends, innovative designs, fashion history, and the overall fashion industry. Creativity and confidence are few vital elements that keeps her at the top of the game approaching each styling assignment. Her accelerated progress and passion for fashion has attracted an enviable list of clientele, including Fuse ODG, Stonebwoy, Ice Prince, Yemi Alade, EL, Mz Vee, Patoranking, Becca, Edem, Ebony Reigns (late), Kidi, Kuame Eugene, Mzbel, Kaakie, Akwaboah, Adina, Zynell, Feli Nuna, Wendy Shay, etc.

Early Life and Educational Background
Magdalene Mamle Combarieu, better known as Maddy Combarieu was born August 23, 1987. She’s is a Ghanaian by nationality. Her accessible pleasure for fashion has added contrast to her personality as a celebrity stylist, entrepreneur and fashion designer who operates her own company called Fashion Pilot. She inherited and actualized ideas from her mother growing up because she was a textile retailer and designer, hence fashion has been in her DNA even before she honed the skill and passion for the profession.
Magdalene graduated from University College of Management Studies, Ghana where she studied Human Resources. She did a Second Degree (MASTERS) in International Public Relations and Global Communication (with focus in Fashion) in the UK at the renowned Cardiff University, and furthered to Central Saint Martins (London, UK) for Fashion Communication.

magdalene
magdalene

Profession
Her interest had always been fashion however after being born again, her purpose which is now music was revealed to fulfill God’s will for her life on earth and she obeyed to be a loyal servant and messenger for Christ, which she loves even more. As paradoxical as it may sound, she used to be an international strategic fashion stylist but she’s no more into it as she is currently proclaiming Jesus gospel through music. It was a very difficult decision to make because she had a global fashion plan project she was working on with her team of creatives. But she had a call from God, therefore she had to drop it all and pick up his cross and surrender. She spent a duration of 4 years in the fashion industry.

The Book of Ecclesiastes 3:1 says; “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”. In that light, her love and abject submission to God has led her to switch lane on her passion for fashion to follow a different path.
Her last styling job before she fully committed to letting go, was the set of “African girl” by Fuse ODG, Kidi and Kwame Eugene. While attending her normal duties on set, she was consumed by God’s grace which drove her to sing and pray the whole time during a 3 days shoot.

Family
She’s happily married with 2 adorable kids.

Working Experience
Her love for fashion has given her the permit to travel out of the country for fashion related works. She has been to Jamaica, Sweden and London. Aside that, she has traveled to France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, UK, Tanzania, Nigeria, South Africa, Cotonou, Benin, Togo and USA.

Challenges
It’s unpredictable, one day you think you have it all figured out and the next day turns to be an absolute surprise. There’s been several ugly cries as she didn’t want to switch lanes from being a fashion stylist to a gospel artist. But eventually she let go with the help of the Holy Spirit. Unbelievably she loves everything God is doing in her life and how he loves and cares. He broke her gracefully and she’s forever grateful He saved her . Now when she thinks of it all she laughs at herself for resisting in the first place. Childbirth has been another major challenge.

Inspiration
Love, and the gospel about Jesus Christ inspires her the most. She finds it very inspiring on how Christ died on the cross to save humankind from sin.

Upcoming Projects
“I’ll run to you” is going to be her first time releasing a music (gospel) single. Its inspired by Jesus saving her and showing her love beyond her imagination. She intends to release the single during the Easter celebrations to remind us of Jesus’ deepest and greatest love he showed by dying on the cross to save humankind. It was produced by Donald. According to her it’s beautiful walking with Jesus; he blesses with peace, joy and love. She’s thankful to God for coming to her aid when she needed him the most.

Achievements
She has achieved quite few and ready to achieve more this time with Jesus by her side. She was nominated at Glitz Style Awards 2018, Ghana Naija Showbiz Awards 2018, Fashion Lifestyle Award 2018 and Fashion Ghana award 2018 but didn’t win any.

Advice
According to her, “Jesus is the way, the truth and life. Get to know and build a relationship with Him and he will make you feel alive and beautiful.”

Behind the scenes as widely known are the works or happenings done privately without being known or seen by the public. It happens to be the most exciting part where extensive works happen in movie making. It remains the secrets part of filmmaking thou there’s been some sort of curiosity on the part of movie lovers.

But the question of the audience being deprived of those shots has been answered by behind the scenes with Fatima, which aims at bridging that gap.
It is the first of its kind ever in Ghana aimed at revealing to movie lovers the real and raw shoot that goes on behind the camera’s that contributes extensively to the entire movie.

It is finally going to fully engage and walk the audience through movie making as there’s already been a pilot shoot.

The first episode of behind the scenes with Fatima presents to viewers the struggles movie makers go through to perfect a scene. With a series of uninterrupted command from the director, the actor takes more than one shot in order to meet the director’s satisfaction. This fun bit is a test of talent and the actor’s ability to take orders.

The entire crew is ready to shoot a slapping scene in the second episode and the action doesn’t meet the energetic requirement of the director. After a series of cuts, for the preferred scene, the camera unknowingly misses the action. Hilarious and fun isn’t it ?

Be on the lookout as behind the scenes with fatimah brings you a gist on all the hustle and tussle film makers go through for the final cut. Follow us on all social media handles @ fatimahadeoye…
