Big Gad Arrives With 'Mi Ye Te Ni'

Following the success of kolgo players like Atongo Zimba and King Ayisoba, another kolgo player has arrived on the scene with his debut single, ‘Mi Ye Te Ni’, which is a fusion of traditional kolgo rhythms and afrobeats. The song features an Austrian rapper Kravali.
According to Gad Nmabia Agure aka Big Gad, he has been working on his art since his youth however, it was ten years ago that he began performing in Bolgatanga and its environs and since then, he has been rapping and playing his kolgo professionally.
Big Gad says he draws his inspiration from kolgo expert King Ayisoba, dancehall king Samini, hiplife guru Sarkodie and hiphop diva Nikki Minaj which reflects in the rootsy, groovy sounds he produces. He notes, “I am here to stay and I will showcase the great rhythms of the north laced with some contemporary grooves to entertain my fans and music lovers.”
Big Gad was discovered by the C.E.O of Nantanga Entertainment Douglas Abalene last year and decided to sign him on to his label. Since then, they have recorded a number of tunes with ‘Mi Ye Te Ni’ as their maiden release.
Douglas Abalene says his outfit Nantanga Entertainment is dedicated to discovering and marketing talents from the Upper East region, an area he believes has more than its fair share of talent. He cites the global exploits of King Ayisoba and Atongo Zimba as examples of what the region has to offer and says the music public should watch out for more from Big Gad and other Nantanga Entertainment artistes.

Obibini Saves The Day For Zylofon Media At Naija Invasion

Ghana’s most talked about CEO Nana Appiah Mensah on August 24th 2018, launched a branch of his Zylofon Media and Menzgold companies in Ghana’s sister country Nigeria successfully.
The launch of the two companies was accompanied with a night musical event which saw to the performance of all artistes signed to the Zylofon Music record label under Zylofon Media together with other Nigerian artistes such as M.I, Ice Prince, Phyno, Burna Boy, Olamide among others.

After the event, Ghanaians have shared lot of controversies about the abysmal performance put out by some Zylofon media artistes such the laud SM boss Shatta Wale, the Bhim president Stonebwoy, Kumi Guitar and the Gospel sensational Joyce Blessing all under the Zylofon Music record label.
With thorough analysis made by #KobbyKyeiNewslive, KobbyKyie crowns Rapper Obibini as the best performer for the night. Although Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kumi Guitar, Joyce Blessing, and King Promise performed their various danceable tunes but it was so sad that the Nigerian fans were just silent staring at them as some underground artiste which made the artistes sing to themselves without any cheers from the audience.
Although Rapper Obibini suffered similar less cheers as well, but Obibini had an excellent performance every rapper wish to have. Rapper Obibini mounted the stage in a grand style with some dope female dancers who thrilled fans as Obibini delivers his punches and bars in his rap songs.
The fans kept nodding their heads as they listen to the lyrics of the Songs performed. KobbyKyieNewsLive rates Obibini as the artiste who
had an excellent performance at the launch of Zylofon Media & Menzgold which was held at the Eko Hotel in Nigeria.

Praise Covenant Holds Album Listening

Praise Covenant a three member group last Thursday held an album listening of their latest album at the Sunlodge . The album Dubbed Praise Covenant, present at the listening were popular gospel musician Nana Yaw Asare, the trio of Praise Covenant and journalists from different media houses.
The media had the opportunity to listen to the 10 track album namely You Are My God, Mmrane, Today Na Today, The Arm of God, Pass Me Not and Maba.
Sound engineers who worked on the album include Dan Bassey, Francis Osei and Philipo.
The leader of the group Apostle Frank Nyamekye explained the motivation behind two songs from the album which is his favourite.
On You Are My God, the artistes sing their heart saying they will only worship God and no other God because He is God who is trust worthy
Praise Covenant lifts God high for his grace and endless love for his children on Mmra ne.
The group, which is made up of Apostle Frank Nyamekye, Dominic Kyereh and Clara Kanu have set out on a mission to win souls for God and they say making money isn’t their goal.
“Our purpose in Ministry is to set people on the right path with the word of God and not what we will gain from it. God has been good to us and the only way to reciprocate the gesture is to live for Him,” Apostle Frank Nyamekye,
“ So far, we have performed at different churches namely All Nations Church, Action Chapel, Gracefields Chapel just to mention a few and the reception was awesome. Our live worship sessions have been loved by audiences and that has been a positive sign for us,” he said.
“The album wouldn’t have been successful without the help of Dr Kwaku Frimpong of Champion Divine Clinic and Dr Ralph Dartey of TLC, we are grateful for the support they have given us,” he added.
The group intends to do collaborations with some of the renowned Ghanaian Gospel musicians in future.
He said that although the group has been around for more than five years, it took time to work on their maiden album to make the impact they want.
