Koo Ntakra: My Wurewurafo Song Is As Big As Telemo
Ghana’s fast rising rap artist, Koo Ntakra has voiced his frustrations over treatment faced by young and rising artistes in the Ghanaian music industry.
The Akuapeam rapper says his ‘Wurewurafo’ song is as big as Gasmilla’s ‘Telemo’ but is not enjoying the massive airplay because he might not be as big as Gasmilla or any of the big arts who Djs and presenters will prefer to him, or receive favors from, and has lamented that, this is killing the dream of many talented artist who even have bigger songs than some of these established ones but because our system is monopolized and the ‘who-you-know’ syndrome continues to rule it will be difficult for them to live up to their dreams or fulfill their potential.
Koo Ntakra went on to say, he is a bit disappointed the Wurewurafo song is not enjoying the rotation Telemo is given across the media landscape, and reiterated that until our djs and radio stations start to believe that everything starts from the bottom, many of the talented musicians coming up who would have been a major export for the country in terms of arts and culture will all end up becoming another burden to the country’s economy in some way.
The former MTN Hitmaker has also revealed that, he has been a victim of such dejections from some Djs and radio presenters because, some people expect him to pay big from his prize kitty he won from the reality show two years ago of which was basically an album recording deal, which was invested in his maiden Akuaba album released last year.
Wurewurafo is one of the smashing songs on the young rappers album, but isn’t the only one, songs like ‘Medaase’ which features Keche, Odorkor-Kaneshie, Bad Figure8 among others are all huge songs if given attention will match any of the big tunes we hear around.
The Koforidua born art is said to release his first single from his new project in the coming week, the song titled ‘Zibortey’ features the Ghana Lady hit man, Danso Abiam. Koo Ntakra, also known as KN is pleading on radio stations and Djs to help young artistes by giving them time on their shows to also promote their works.

My Brother & I Are Not Fighting – Peter of P-Square
Nearly a year after it emerged that Nigerian duo, ‘P-Square’, Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye, had engaged in a stand -off which nearly split the group. Peter Okoye in an interview with Hitz Fm revealed that he had no grudges with his twin brother Paul Okoye.
“People come to ask me all the time about my brother, my brother is fine”, he said.
Peter who is on a tour without his brother to fetch talented dancers from West Africa for his reality show dubbed ‘Dance with Peter’ revealed his brother was very supportive with what he was doing.
According to him, Paul is also running other businesses without him and he(Peter) had always been more passionate about dancing and that’s why he is on tour alone.
“Dancing is something I have always loved doing ad you notice in some of our videos, he runs different businesses without me but he loves what am doing “, he said.
Peter together with his dancer, Kafayat Shafau Ameh, popularly known as Kaffy, and dance expert and choreographer, Flexxy selected six dancers from Ghana to battle in Lagos, Nigeria ‘Dance with Peter’ is designed to promote dance culture among youths in West Africa and also to provide a platform for them to make a career.
“We are not fighting guys get that into your head, who knows he might even come up with Sing with Peter too”, he added.

YaaYaa To Release “DUMB DRUM” September 7
The ‘Kae’ hit maker and the only female soul singer who plays the guitar instrument YaaYaa has a new single for her fans this September.
In an exclusive interview with YaaYaa, the Stars of the future breakthrough disclosed that the new single is called ‘Dumb Drum’ and should be out on September 7th.
She contended that the title signifies everything and this song is so important to her because she feels the fans have been waiting for so long.
‘I feel like my fans will be asking, ‘so won’t I give me them some good music to get through their life especially after the success of ‘Kae’. The cry should stop now (she smiles and giggles) because the new single is ready and after more songs follow’, she opined.
YaaYaa whose hit cover of R2bees ‘Walahi’ (Life) featuring TV/Radio star Caroline became national sensation is optimistic that the fans will relate to the new single more and will add up to her success.
