It’s a season on good recognition for the Ghanaian music industry as a whole. So many nominations popping up here and there and we bring to you news about the African Dancehall King / Highgrade Family and Samini music boss, Samini has been nominated for the upcoming MTV Music Awards. He was nomination for the “Evolution” category which is a new on introduced.
Samini will be competing with nine other African acts for this award. They are 2Face (Nigeria), Anselmo Ralph (Angola), Asa (Nigeria), Black Coffee (South Africa), Chameleone (Uganda), D’Banj (Nigeria), Fally Ipupa (DRC), HHP (South Africa), and P-Square (Nigeria).
Mr Tim Horwood who is the channel Director for the MTV Base made this comment : “The MAMA “Evolution” award honours established artistes who have made an indelible mark on African and global music culture, taken African music to new territories around the world, pushed the boundaries of creativity, and shaped the soundscape of contemporary Africa.”
