To be a Dancehall artiste who can permeate the commercial market very well, one must be able to sing as well 9apart from the heavy toasting/raga style, which the genre is more identified with. One very unique artiste Ghana can boast of now is Brainna. The spiky dreadlocks which comes with his outlook would make you think he is a “bad boy” of Dancehall, not until he opens his silky voice that would make you swoon.
Brainna is a versatile artiste who is more identified with Dancehall & Reggae, but is very flexible with other genres as well. Put him on any song and he is sure to deliver his good vocal dynamics. He is also a songwriter and performer. Though he is not widely known in mainstream showbiz, he is a name that rings a bell in the ears of most Reggae & Dancehall fanatics within just a year on the scene, professionally, as he states.
Brainna who was formerly with BullHaus Entertainment has moved on and is now signed to Jahsig Family Entertainment record label, managed by Agatha Oduro.
“I listen to all music genres to widen my scope about the industry. I don’t really have a favourite genre, I listen to all of them depending on the mood I am in. I listen to good music, be it locally or internationally. I can’t really figure out but I guess everyone has to move on in life; so I have moved on and I am no more with BullHaus Entertainment. I am now with Jahsig Family Entertainment and that’s it. I believe God is moving me to new heights and I need to accept that wind of change. ‘Jahsig’ simply means ‘Jah signature’ and I hope that explains itself.”
Brainna is one of the artistes featured on the “Infinity Riddim” produced by Rackus Productions and the “Most High Riddim” produced by Genius Selections. He has featured in studio works with popular acts Shatta Wale, Edem, Castro, 5Five as well as rising act Rudebwoy Ranking, Tida, Bizevanz and a lot more.
Brainna has played on notable stages such as Tigo Switch Concert, Miss Ghana vrs Nigeria Concert, 30Minitz Salafest 2014, Shatta Wale Homecoming and a couple of others.
Brainna, was born on December 23rd, real name is Ebenezer Koodi.
