Ghanaian music group, Wutah has dismissed claims that their new banger ‘Bronya‘ encourages smoking of indian hemp, popularly known as ‘wee’ and addiction to the consumption of alcoholic drink among the youth.

Speaking to Ike De-Unpredictable on Abusua FM in Ku masi, Wutah, known in real life as Daniel Morris and Frank Osei with stage names as Afriyie and Kobby, said their song only seeks to depict how the youth celebrate in exuberance.

“BRONYA IS NOT TO PROMOTE WEE SMOKING AND ALCOHOLISM AS IT’S BEING SAID. WE ARE TELLING THE LIFESTYLE OF GHANAIAN YOUTH DURING CELEBRATIONS,” WUTAH SAID.

Wutah angered and disappointed their supporters with news of break up some years back. The duo blamed each other for their separation over greed, pride and envy.

They are now back after 7 years of going their seperate ways. According to Wutah, performing together has made them more successful than going solo.

Wutah, which means fire in Hausa, came into the limelight when they placed second to Praye during the maiden edition of the Nescafe Africa Revelation music competition in Accra in 2004.

Their debut album, ‘Anamontuo’, with songs like ‘Adonko’, ‘Gossie Gander’ and ‘Big Dreams’ earned them eleven Ghana Music Award nominations including the ‘Most Popular Song of the Year’, ‘Album of the Year’, and ‘Artiste of the Year’.

After chalking up some successes, they went their separate ways in 2009 due to rumoured bickering between them.
