I Didnt Disrespect Vvip - Pharuk Jbreal

The management of Pharuk Jbreal has debunked assertion by certain sections of the music industry fraternity particularly those in the hausa community that the artiste has disrespected VVIP and has become arrogant even though he is not very popular.

Pharuk Jbreal’s failure to make an appearance at the last Sallah Fest Concert organized by VVIP on the nima high street is the grounds for the arrogant tag being thrown at him. Hausa music lovers at the concert were in high anticipation to watch him perform some songs off his zongo king EP especially Kinbuudey, a controversial song that always sparks debate when it is played at gatherings in Hausa speaking communities.

Jassim Al Hassan of Xcess entertainment in a telephone interview confirmed that there were efforts to get Pharuk to perform at the concert and was also quick to add that duty call to Nigeria made it impossible. He added that the team has always had good feedback from Nigeria on Pharuk Jbreal’s music and the trip was in the interest of Pharuk Jbreal and his fans in ensuring that the brand becomes a success.

“We honestly didn’t expect this; I think we underestimated our grass root support. If only we knew the level of support we are enjoying among the zongo youth and Hausa communities, we would have cancelled the Nigeria gig, which was even a private event of a Hausa business mogul. We however took advantage of our visit to discuss with some labels about a full scale penetration into the Nigeria music market which has a larger Hausa speaking demographic” He elaborated

Pharuk Jbreal has a fast growing grass root fanbase among Hausa communities in Ghana and is mostly described as Hausa’s jay Z due to his creative way of fusing hausa and English language talent and also being a highly business savvy person with quiet an impressive corporate world profile.

A tweet by Pharuk Jbreal the day after the concert was in an apologetic tone, which read. “It has always been my dream to perform at VVIPs Sallah fest at Nima. It’s about the biggest platform for my kind of music. Am sorry fans, we tried. Thanks for the love”
