Kwasi Tay, known in music circles as “Kwatay” is one of the very influential but silent forces behind the scenes supporting both mainstream and budding talents.

Kwatay is a known face from his hometown, Sovie, to have supported many musicians and entertainment programmes. He has single-handedly organized music concerts to entertain and elevate the youths of his area. He is well revered from his home region for his efforts to always support the youths and sustain music & arts.

Kwatay is one of the strong forces behind MOBO-winning musician, Samini’s latest “Untamed” Album. Kwatay is known to have pulled some resources and team for the production of Samini’s successful album “Untamed” which has won an international award. Kwatay was also a strong force that helped organize Samini’s “Untamed Album Launch” in 2019 at the Seattle Arts Museum in USA. The “Untamed” hit the world charts at N.o 8 in the “TOP 10 Reggae Albums” on Billboard.com during the first week of release. That album also won “Album Of The Year” on Europe’s biggest Reggae magazine, Reggaeville.com

Long before he got to connect with Samini, he has been good friends with the Legendary Producer/Musician, Nana King. And Nana King according to history was the one who shot Samini’s career up and blew him to the world as a Producer at the time (in early 2000s).

Just like the adage goes that “good beads don’t rattle”, Kwatay has been quite reserved about his accomplishments and loves to work behind the scenes.

Tracing it down to memory lane, Kwatay, who is also a musician himself, had released a debut album in the early 2000s. Fast forward 2019, he began serious recording again and dropped “Bodyguard” (Akpeteshie), a song that best fits a street anthem for the (hard liquor) parties. He shot a very clean video for it directed by Slingshot, the same video Director who worked on classic videos for Rocky Dawuni, Morgan Heritage, Samini, just time Name a few.

Kwatay announces a major return this 2020 and would wan to keep his fans and music lovers in a bit of suspense before he drops the new jam.
