Whilst anxiety and rumors were circulating that this year’s REKOGNIZE will have no host, the truth was, the organizing team for the gig were just embarking on a deep search for the host of the interschool rivalry show dubbed Rekognize 2013. Now it’s been revealed, via the Official Rekognize twitter page (@RekognizeGh) that, the Rekognize 2013 host is none other than Africa’s youngest entertainment tycoon “Monte Oz”.
In addition to Monte Oz, the auxiliary face you’ll be seeing on Rekognize 2013 gig is one of Ghana’s creative Actors “Redeemer”. For those who don’t know about the host, here’s some background info: Monte Oz known privately as “Monte Pypi Darteh Collins” is host of Ghana’s most watched college (High School) entertainment TV magazine dubbed High hood Network on Crystal TV Prime channel. Monte alongside works as a broadcaster for Africa’s number one radio channel “K-hitz Radio” in New Jersey (United States of America). The Rekognize 2013 host is the holder of the sizzling online media (www.TheMonteOz.com) powered by BGMG (Black Gold Media Group) and he’s highly noted by his controversial reviews on celebrities and the entertainment trade in Africa and beyond.
Monte Oz has hosted numerous national college events since 2011 till date and his hard work and versatility earned him several honors in Ghana and the United States of America. He was honored as the K-hitz Most Appreciated West African Correspondent at the 2011 K-Hitz Honors in New Jersey. He as well bagged away the Ghana High School Media Personality of the Year 2012 at – Ghana Hi-Skuuls Entertainment Awards held at the national theatre.
In a brief interview with the host, he affirmed, he really appreciate been in the position to host the high rated inter-schools variety show combat (REKOGNIZE 2013) which is slated for 18th April at the National Theatre. “Though I have hosted several national events for African folks, been the 2013 host for REKOGNIZE is another plus for me because I never expected the promoters and organizers of the event to choose me to host… For now, I just wanna thank all the media outlets that got my back always. The crowd at this year’s event should expect the most authentic gig ever at Rekognize 2013, for the reason that no one knows what am about to do on that damn night!!” – Monte Oz said.
