FOCAP
FOCAP

FOCAP has read in the Monday 18th September Edition of the News One newspaper a very worrying story, headlined “Ghallywood Film Village Closed Down?” the story then went further to prove currently the happenings and unfortunate level of abandonment. FOCAP wants to congratulate NewsOne and its editorial team.

Check Out : Brella – Play You Gala (Ebony Reply)

Firstly, FOCAP wants to congratulate Mr William Akuffo for envisaging such a wonderful dream and putting effort in securing about 200 acres of land (800 plots) for a wonderful African film village.

ln as much as he (Mr William Akuffo) is an individual who wanted to help the industry by training students of which he did personalities like Akuma Mama Zimbi who completed in 1999, Anita Owusu, Majid Michel and others who studied their acting careers with the same school.

FOCAP understands that in 2005 , Mr William Akuffo with assistance from Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency ( GYEEDA) to help accommodate and feed students of the school. GYEEDA consequently started sending students there to undergo a 3 months intensive training for which the students were provided equipment by the government to enable them start work.

FOCAP is also reliable informed that GYEEDA intended to open between 200- 400 shops across he country specifically to sell local movies.

FOCAP also realized from research the dream Ghallywood had to establish a television station and a radio station in 2013 August.

With all the above on hindsight, FOCAP is proposing to the Ministry of Tourisim, Culture and Arts that, with immediate effect;

1- Adopt the school and bring the school under the supervision of the Ministry.

2- Attach the Ghallywood Film Village to our only training school NAFTI to help build a strong institution.

3- Revamp the school and further help the industry get a good film village where our film industry can shoot their movies.

4- Use this film village to create more jobs for artisans by strategically partnering with the Private Media Training schools and the National Youth Employment Agency and Maslog.

5 – Investigate how effective the GYEEDA help was and design a blueprint to integrate this into the Free SHS policy and into the tertiary education.

FOCAP is always ready to provide the necessary research, policy suggestions and clarifications as needed by necessary agencies and Commissions.

I will save Shatta Wale in a deadly situation – Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy
Stonebwoy

One question many will find difficult to answer is, “Would you save your enemy from death?” While many will find it difficult to answer this question, dancehall artiste Stonebwoy says he won’t hesitate to save Shatta Wale.

The two artistes have for some years now been involved in one of the fiercest rivalries the Ghanaian music industry has ever witnessed.

Check Out : Pauli-B – Lady Don Dada (Remix) (Feat Ebony Reigns)

In spite of that rivalry, Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, says he is more than willing to save Shatta Wale from a deadly situation.
He made the revelation in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM with KMJ.
“Like I came on stage in 2015 and when I was about to present my BET and overall Artiste of the Year at the 4Syte Music Video Awards, I called him on stage, that was the moment where I should have enjoyed my hype all by myself presenting my BET’s and the overall to the world,” the ‘Run Go’ hit singer said.

“Why would I call so to speak my rival to come on stage and share the glory, why can I not do that when an opportunity presents itself?” He called. “I may not be able to do that always, not like am Jesus Christ but as and when I feel like, I will.”

Marriage:

Just a day after being signed on to Zylofon Media record label, Stonebwoy got married this year to Doctor Louisa Ansong at the Ghana Trade Fare Centre.
Many believed that since the lady was raised in a wealthy family, there were rumours that she sponsored the wedding.
Reacting to the rumours, the award-winning dancehall artiste asserted that, “I would hardly have spoken about it, there are rumors and to say I have been in the industry for a while and this shouldn’t surprise me. It’s their right, they are having their opinion but from the horse’s own mouth, it is of no such reasons, they should see it as that.”
According to him, “this should rather encourage people to stand by their decisions if the focus is what is being said I believe that there are richer people we have met.”
“You have to be able to fend for yourself, I have to be able to fend for myself, we now come together to fend for ourselves. Even friends support each other, how much more persons who have decided to come together to live,” he concluded.

GMP frontliner, Genesis gives us the Ghanaian version of Olamide’s infamous ‘Wo’ tune. In his version, he does a mashup of a couple of Ghanaian songs adding up his own verses and mentioning some artists too.
The original tune by Olamide has been banned in Nigeria due to defaults in the regulations but Genesis’ refix makes it more acceptable. Having the same rhythm, Genesis add up bit more flair to make to more Ghanaian by mixing Ghanaian languages together.

Lil Win tries to steal Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’ song?

Patapaa
Patapaa

Arguably, the song titled ‘One Corner’ by Patapaa is the biggest song currently in the clubs and on the streets.
The song is accompanied with a dance that sometimes requires that one secludes one’s self in a corner and perform a sexually stimulating dance.

Check Out : Brella – Play You Gala (Ebony Reply)

‘One Corner’ has created a craze that has seen a number of Ghanaian celebrities record videos of themselves enjoying the song.
The situation is, however, not that same with actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win.
Patapaa Amisty, the composer of the song indicates that Lil Win is trying to rake in from the song by insisting that they have a remix version of the song to have the actor’s name on the record.
“He wants to record the song with the caption Lil Win X Patapaa. What is the meaning of the X?” the hit maker quizzed.
Narrating the story to Joy News’ Maxwell Amoofia, Patapaa disclosed that after several failed attempts by Lil Win’s manager to have him agree to the deal, Lil Win contacted him personally to say that he was disappointed in Patapaa’s unyielding attitude.
According to him, Lil Win and his manager were so desperate to record the remix that, they requested to have the song’s data sent to them via WhatsApp after realising that he was reluctant to meet them in Kumasi.
The Swedru-based artiste was outraged by Lil Win’s unending attempt to take advantage of his song thus making him ignore phone calls from Lil Win’s camp.
He also expressed fears over rumours that Lil Win intends to record a new song with the same title.
