Shatta Wale has reacted to Stonebwoy calling him Corporal Nii.
The serial hitmaker commenting on a story which indicated Stonebwoy refered to him as Corporal Nii in Jamaica joked;
“Chale chale this name no deh be kwraaa ..ah !! my guy change it ..Try anada one … even gbee nabu was a bit ok …Joker!!”
Stonebwoy some months back also reacted to Shatta Wale’s Sergeant Lee lyrics in the smash hit single Taking Over.
The multiple hit factory in a radio interview said;
“Sincerely speaking, I chanced up on the Sergeant Lee thing twice. He told JOY FM. This is the third time I’m hearing it at a very reputable place and I think I have to start wanting to find out its meaning and what its driving at.
Shatta’s lyrics loosely translated says “Sergeant Lee, you are laid back enjoying tea and claim you are in a comfortable lead…”
“Listening to the song, sincerely, I do not hear any shots thrown at me or anybody. Some of the other songs might have thrown shots but thats even allowed once it doesn’t go beyobd certain limits. When it gets personal I will go personal too.
“When you don’t know me personal and you try to make it seem you do then we will have to let you expatiate. Its lyrical. The sergeant Lee lyric, if it means something positive then ‘I take am’ but if it doesn’t then I would like to know what they are talking about. I have done a lot and so may be that’s how the person want to praise me. I have also seen tweets where people call others Corporal Nii.

He told Showbiz in an interview, he is very proud of his daughter and supports everything she wears and does through and through.
“I am supportive of anything my daughter does and anything she wears. I am not ashamed as a father, the truth is that, I choose what she wears and I bless her before she goes out to perform. Some Ghanaians are hypocrites and I am sorry but I am not one of them,” he said.
Touching on how he feels when he hears of or reads negative things about his daughter, he said, “I am not bothered at all. The reason is simple, I know my daughter than anyone else. What people see out there is what we want them to see and that is because she is an artiste and needs a brand that will sell.
“For God’s sake, she is a Dancehall artiste and she wears what will make her feel confident when performing on stage. Something that will depict the genre of music and songs she churns outs”, he added.
When asked if his daughter, Ebony real name, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, is a bad girl, Nana Poku Kwarteng jumped to her defense saying “My daughter is not a bad girl, she is very calm, loving and a respectful person. Whatever she does on stage ends there. She is a different person when she gets home”, he said.
Describing the relationship between himself and Ebony, he said, “My girl as I usually call her is close to my heart. We are so close that I gave her the go ahead when she told me she wanted to do music.
“Initially I questioned her decision because, she is a very intelligent girl and was doing extremely well in school and every parent will want his or her child to get to the top of the highest academic ladder.
“But she insisted music was what she wanted to do. Music is where her heart is and I gave her my blessings. I couldn’t have stopped her because these children are smart”, the father of Poison singer said.
He also urged parents to “listen to their children, if they want to do something different than what you had in mind, just guide them and give them a reason to give their best and that applies to positive steps only. Do not you force your decision on them.”

A very interesting part of the interview that made headlines after the interview was the story about D-Black not signing Mr Eazi.
After watching the video, we realized D-Black had been misquoted in those headlines. In the interview, D-Black was listing names of richest Ghanaian artists and he ranked Mr Eazi with the likes of Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy. He then added that Mr Eazi was introduced to him back in 2013 through an acquaintance in hopes of signing him onto the Black Avenue Muzik label but for certain reasons that didn’t happen. He then signed unto the label, hiphop Afrobeats act Joey B.
A few months ago, D-Black praised Mr. Eazi’s Accra – Lagos mixtape on his twitter handle.

Officially premiered last weekend at the Rooftop event center , Darkovibes finally unleash the awesome body of work online for everybody to have a feel of it. The predominant concept behind Tomorrow is Darko’s renounce for Instagram Girls and rather focusing on harboring his relationship with the woman he loves. On “Tomorrow” also, he tries to convince his woman she’s the only one who does it for him while begging her to stay with him through thick and thin. He slips between language barriers, inserting choice lines of Twi and Ga while trying to convince her. Tomorrow is off his soon to be released EP dubbed “PLACEBO”. Video was directed by Babs with assistance from DarkoVibes . Check it out.
Being an ardent follower of entertainment news and happenings, i happen to tune it to most of the entertainment related shows every now and then to catch up with the latest juice or hear critics and reviews from industry players. Well that’s technically a part of the job since I have to be updated on who said what and where and why. With that said a question or should I say a discussion that has been hovering around for a while was finally voiced out on TV.
George Mensah Britton, a blogger turned media mogul and TV Pundit on Rythmz Live with Berla Mundi which airs on GHOne Tv revealed how he thinks Micheal Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie, has been on a slow pace as compared to his work force.
This came up during the “beef” situation between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, Host Berla Mundi and himself were discussing.
According to him, the Ghanaian circular music world has really come a long way with it’s various and some infamous style/genre of music, dating back to the 90s when hiplife was introduced into the market to the now contemporary hip-life; Gh Rap/ Hip Hop, Reggae and Dancehall, Afro Beat and the rest.
Consequently, various fraternities springing from these categories have over the past couple of years had a number of controversies between themselves in defense of their artists and in some cases even amongst artists themselves.
One of the most popular controversies commonly known as ‘’beef’’ has been between Self acclaimed king of dancehall Shatta Wale and two time BET award nominee and one time winner, Stonebwoy.
The two dancehall artists have had one of the most disputed career experience as well as a series of serious yet healthy controversies.
This as related by Mr Britton is healthy in the sense that, these controversies have proven to be more of a competition that has made these aforementioned names strive harder to achieve greater and better just not for themselves but their fraternity at large.
He further made this statement on the matter.
“Sarkodie doesn’t have enough competition in his territory. There are a lot of rap artistes in Ghana, Yes! but none is giving Sarkodie a run for his money. As we speak now Stonebwoy is in Trinidad & Tobago whiles his rival Shatta Wale is in Jamaica recording and cooling off at Montego Bay Beach.
Stonebwoy doesn’t want to back down neither will Shatta Wale because there’s a keen competition between the artistes and their fans. On the other hand, Sarkodie is having a jolly ride and controlling the rap game as he wishes. As we say, competition breeds success. Yes Sark is successful but little competition will get him up his game a little more and throw more light on the Rap genre in our dear industry; I think it’s about time all these ‘beefing‘ and hatred be turned in serious motivation where acts from the Ghanaian Rap fraternity work extra harder to match up to or beat the ‘King’ at his game
He is gradually becoming somewhat a lazy King and isn’t enjoying the airplay his works used to enjoy in the past.”
Now this issued raised by Mr. Britton is a matter a lot of people have already brought up over time. Sarkodie since 2007 has been a household name after his first single ‘’Baby’’ ft Mugeez became an instant hit.
Not only is he the self acclaimed king of rap but has proven nationwide without doubt that he sure owes himself the title.
However for some time now, several fans and music enthusiasts in general have expressed their disappointment in the artist’s performance now.
He’s some what become complacent because there isn’t any healthy competition between him and the other rappers now.
I personally hope there would be a healthy competition between sarkodie and a rapper soon, one that would give sarkodie a run for his money because undoubtedly he is a really good Rapper but what becomes of a good rapper when he’s got no competition?
