Africa’s most prolific hausa rapper,Pharuk Jbreal last Friday released an EP dubbed Zongo King with a listening event at the plush coco vanilla,east legon.
The event allowed patrons to sample all 9 tracks on the EP,amidst applauds and revealing broad smiles on the faces of patrons track after track. There was mad rush for copies of the EP after the event, prompting the Xcess music team to take phone numbers of interested individuals who didnt get copies of the CDs to be delivered to them at a later date.
One patron, said “i havent heard hausa music presented in such a trendy fashion.Pharuk Jbreal’s music is so urbanized,the way he fusses the hausa language with English makes it a delight to listen,its amazing and am really impressed”
Pharuk Jbreal’s manager, Jassim Al-hassan addressing the audience explained that the listening event sets the pace for a series of activities lined up by Xcess Entertainment Group to present the pharuk jbreal brand to music lovers.
He also disclosed that to follow the listening event is a hausa community tour, a celebrity listening tour,a pub tour,a club tour and a Pharuk Jbreal Live Concert to officially outdoor the brand to Ghanians and the world as a whole.
The night saw appearances by Qweci formally Ded Buddy, Gasmilla, Capasta, Oteniba, Fargo and fast rising Ghanaian comedian Ajeezay. Other renowned celebrities spotted a the venue were yvonne nelson and lydia forson.
The Zongo King EP is generating alot of excitement among the hausa community in Ghana and Nigeria. Music industry analyst have described pharuk jbreal’s brand of music as unique and will fill a big vacuum left in the Ghana music industry by now defunct music group VIP.
With hausa been one of the most widely spoken languages on the African continent, music business pundits have stressed that pharuk jbreal has the potential to be one of Africa’s biggest music brands in recent times and the economic viability of the brand cannot be over emphasized.
