According to Google, RAP is a type of popular music of US black origin in which words are recited rapidly and rhythmically over an instrumental backing. With that been aid, one would say the likes of Twista, Busta Rhymes and other tongue-twisting rap artistes are the best of which other school of taught also think otherwise.

I am not here to tell who is best or who is wack but to talk about that one rapper who has traveled far with the Twi language.

In 2007, Ghana was awaken to a hard-core rapper by name SARKODIE who was poised with action. The rapper mixed humour with great lyricism by jumping from one instrumental to the other just to prove how best He was.

Then came his major hit ‘U Go Kill Me’ which featured EL. This song became a nationwide hit and moved on to break the boarders of Ghana into Africa as whole. From that day on wards, there has never been a dull moment with Sakodie.

With 18 awards from Ghana Music Award, the rapper has has 56 awards from 104 nominations worldwide including hi win as the Best Int’l Act: African category at the 2012 BET Award held in Los Angeles.

Still signed to DuncWillsEnt and co-signed to his own record label SarkCess music, the rapper has managed to niche all the all the according accolades of a successful artiste and one could argue that He is the best Ghana has had in this decade (no disrespect to Osibisa among other).

In quite a number of interviews and songs, He has made it clear that He is yearning for the Grammy Awards and with this pace and Hard work, it is certainly not far from reach.

His collaborations and featured has put him among the most sorted artistes in Africa. His fans the SarkNationas He loves to call them have shown undying support even when he was been ridiculed by the media on numerous occasions.

For a rapper from Ghana to have chalked all these and more by selling himself and the local language to the world, one can boldly conclude that “SARKODIE MIGHT NOT BE YOUR BEST RAPPER IN GHANA BUT HE IS THE BEST ARTISTE GHANA HAS HAD IN A DECADE”
