Theatre For Tamale Is A Welcoming News – Fancy Gadam

The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, speaking at the 10th Anniversary of Ghana International School’s annual Drama night, said plans have been put in place to build three multi-purpose theatres in Tamale, Kumasi and Takoradi, saying the lack of theatre facilities across the country is an “omission in our artistic and cultural infrastructure.”

In light of the recent development, Tamale based musician, Fancy Gadam has applauded the president by saying “Building an ultra modern theatre for the people of Tamale is refreshing news”.

Fancy Gadam, speaking to Ray Charles Marfo on Adehye3 FM’s Showbiz Arena stated that: “its great news and I believe it will help our industry. We don’t have any place for our programs here in the north, it’s only the sports stadium we have for our shows and you know it’s for sports activities but then we organize shows there which is because we don’t have options.”

He again added that: “I believe a theatre in Tamale will help the northern industry. We will say thank you to the president and hoping as he has promised, he will fulfill it”

Touching on the music industry, the president said the industry will be given the necessary support. In addition, he promised strict enforcement of the piracy law.
