Yung Pabi – Mentie (Feat. Akan) (Prod. by Epidemix)

Yung Pabi teamed up with Akan to create this hip hop song that encourages self-belief. M3ntie, an Akan word which literally translates, I did not listen.
According to the graduate of the Central University, the title is what he chose to call this piece of art.
” This song’s inspiration came from the people who told me to quit music and go for a 9 to 5 because as it stands, my passion is not paying my bills and also those who kept telling me to change my style and do what everybody is doing. I mean those who told me indirectly to lose myself and make music I did not believe in. Sometimes we are told to go against our will or our plans and it works out, but what about the other times we disobey and still succeed? Sometimes listening to ourselves and having absolute belief in what we think and feel, gets us closer to our dreams. Even if we fail, our mistakes teache’s us the right route to take when we try again. I am at a point in my career where I have crossed the red sea and no matter the obstacle that comes my way, I know I am victory bound. I am glad I did not listen. I pray this song goes a long way to light the bulb in you too. ”
Yung Pabi was recently affirmed by astute broadcaster Abeiku Aggrey Santana of Okay FM and U TV as one of the young rappers to look out for in 2019.
The song was produced by Epidemix.
