The Story Of A Street Girl Who Became The Boss And A Mentor To Thousands

The Story Of A Street Girl Who Became The Boss And A Mentor To Thousands
The Story Of A Street Girl Who Became The Boss And A Mentor To Thousands

Life indeed has its own way of teaching individuals, how to experience winnings or conquest. As a Speaker and Author, Stacy Amewoyi always says to her audience that “they should never stop learning, because life will never stop teaching them more difficult lessons, as they keep climbing the ladder of success and better lifestyle”. Stacy has actually gone through the toughest part of life’s quest. Although, such lessons has lead millions of people to give up on their dreams as well. But not our beautiful Stacy, who stated that, she has been able to use those stones thrown at her by life to build herself into a woman of substance as well as a powerful Philanthropist.
You may have heard or read about some successful people likes Oprah Winfrey, Mother Teresa and so on. Who went through some sort of life trainings but now use those trials as inspiration to the world. So is Stacy M. Amewoyi’s untold story which will engaged you to rethink about life itself.
THE POWER OF A STREET GIRL!
Her name actually is Celestine Godsent Amewoyi. A beautiful girl, who only saw her mother couple of times her whole life and has never met her father. She was under her great-grandmother’s care, even though she was pretty aged with some health issues including her eyes. Stacy was normally asked to do adults task by some of her family members and if she was unable to achieve the expected results. She would be adore with insults like she is useless or brainless being and nothing good may come-out of her.
Then she left home after few years because her protector was too old to safeguard her. She then became a hawker on the street of Accra selling different things such as ‘ayigbe’ toffee (locally manufactured toffee from coconut), kerosene, beverages and other things. Can you imagine what she used her profits for? According, to Stacy she supported herself through primary and Junior High School education level. As she was still on the street of Accra, she learnt self-defense because on the street or market place is only the strong survives. Due to, her strong believe that every human being born of a woman deserve better treatment and respect notwithstanding of the person’s gender. She was consistently moved by compassion to stand-up for her peers, specially the girls. Eventually, the school authorities deem it possible to dismiss her. Due to her involvement in series of fights within same week she signed good behavior bond. So she continue to stay on the street fulltime for her market business.
The sense of her been told she is “worthless being” by her relatives and friends. Finally, those painful words forced her to moved out of her part-time home at a tender age and landed herself on the street again to do ‘kayayoo’(carrying other market women’s heavy loads or goods for them to pay her less than Gh¢ 20 per day) at the Kaneshie market. Being gifted as a dancer, she was also hired to dance at funeral and birthday parties on weekends just after weekdays of hard work. Questioned her of the reasons, her respond was “man needed to survive on the street of Accra”. She added that, she was minding her own business on until that unfaithful day, a strange woman from nowhere sighted her and mentioned to the people around her that Stacy was dead few years ago. The comic part of all this was, after she had been beaten, tied up and others were still calling her ‘GHOST’. A very sophisticated man, went-up to her and whisper into her ears “please my dear beautiful ghost return to your grave now peacefully or I will order the boys to burn you alive”?

Teephlow Defends VGMA 2019 Best Rapper Title

Teephlow Defends VGMA 2019 Best Rapper Title
Teephlow Defends VGMA 2019 Best Rapper Title

Hip Hop history has always been the celebration of poetry and a delibrate attempt to send message to the masses through well delivered lyrics and style.

This genre of music was the weapon of the then black minority in the West to tell their own stories, so much emphasis was place d on concept and lyrics.

Same can be said about the times the likes Reggie Rockstone, the Okra Tom, Obrafour, Lord Kenya and others took over the microphone here in Ghana. We were treated with wholsome rap music, one can easily point to Pae Mu Ka by Obrafour, Sika by Kenya and others. You could clearly tell the message and that was done pleasingly to the ears.

This feat has become a scarce characteristic in today’s hip-hop and rap music. No clear message but lame jargons just to sway the masses from paying attention to their emptiness.

Other new acts who attempted to go this way got swayed to follow the masses.

One rapper who has since his entry, held this enviable feat of delivering very deep content to the amazement of both industry players and music lovers in General, Is TeePhlow.

TeePhlow is one of very few intelligent rappers in Ghana.Though his style is yet to gain the mass appeal, he’s since his debut EP named Phlowducation attracted great attention.

He won the Record of The Year award at the VGMAs in 2018 for his eloquently written State of The Art song which was an artistic description of the ills in themusic industry.

TeePhlow as a protege of the Last Two music group began his music career in 2014 with a heavy punchlines and metaphors. His delivery and style is apt, his first official song The Warning which featured BET award winner Sarkodie was touted the best rap song in 2014.

He’s since kept his composer to deliver very deep projects. Though most of his compatriot has left the game of lyricism,

TeePhlow released a single called Preach in 2018 which most people describe it as a response to rapper Strongman’s diss song. This song has since been nominated as best rap song/ Best Rapper category in 2019 VGMA and also made entry is in Ghana Entertaiment Awards USA 2019 best rapper category.

Preach is not your usual Gh rap song but a unique blend of poetry and satirism with a deliberate attempt to push the Masses towards lyricism as he always do it.

TeePhlow lost out the best rapper award last year to rapper sarkodie by popular votes. This is his second attempt to win this battle. Zooming in to that particular category, there in Sarkodie, Manifest, Obibini, Teephlow and Medikal.

The Young rapper made entry with his Preach song which to me stands tall to any other song in that category. Manifest’s Feel song comes a bit close followed my the Dream by Obibini then Can’t let You Go by Sarkodie and lastly How Much Remix by Medikal.

If what we know about rap music like what was done by Obrafour and Reggie, Biggi and Tupac is what we looking out for here in Ghana, The Young rapper should win rapper of the year hands down at this year’s VGMAs.

Match all five songs to each other and the difference is so clear. From lyricism, delivery and style, Preach beats all in that category.

Teephlow has two nominations at this year’s VGMA: Songwriter of the Year and Best Rapper of The Year

Take a moment to evaluate the song yourself to appreciate my position.

Prince Amoah To Release New Song ‘Asotwi Wuo’

Prince Amoah
Prince Amoah

VERY soon, Christians in Ghana and other parts of the world will celebrate Easter, which is the commemoration of Jesus’ death and resurrection. And in his bid to make the season more meaningful, Gospel musician Prince Amoah, to release a new single titled Asotwi Wuo next week tuesday April 16th .

According to Prince Amoah, the release of the song is strategic. “As Christians, we believe that the death of Christ is the reason we are saved today. It is because of the blood he shed on Calvary that when we sin we are forgiven so as Easter approaches, I just want to remind everyone that Christ died for our sins,” he told Showbiz.

Produced by Herbert Cassy, Asotwi Wuo, a three-minute track, is rendered in the Reggae vein with lovely arrangement and simple lyrics which Prince says is deliberate.
“We have found ourselves in an era where people do not have time to listen to lengthy lyrics that they will not be able to recollect. So my team and I decided to do something simple and easy that when people listen to, they can memorise.

“Of what use will it be if a song comes out, people listen and can’t remember a word in it? We considered all these things before putting the song together,” he said.

Prince Amoah, who has been doing music for the last six years, told Showbiz that though the journey has not been easy, he is sure that very soon he will make the impact he is seeking to make.
“It has not been easy but now I am signed on to a new label called 2 Face Production and I am optimistic that this time it will be well. The team is solid and are putting things in place,” he stated.

Prince, who resides in Israel and comes to Ghana once in a awhile, added that distance has also worked against him.
“Due to distance I am not able to push the songs I churn out or go for interviews as I should but all that will change. We are putting measures in place.”

He had a word for Christians for the Easter period. “Let us celebrate the death of Christ in truth and humility, Easter is a time where we go back to the cross and remember all that he had to go through so that you and I can have life; the debts he paid. Let us not take it for granted, for me it is more of a reconnection time so let’s take advantage of it.”

Knii Lante – When E Rain

After a most stressful 2018 in which Knii Lante ( aka K.L.M. ) lost his close friend, ally and road manager Nana Turkson , Ghana’s sweet-voiced musician , physician , humanitarian and “#52 Ambulances”-song-maker brings us his first single for 2019 .
This reflective ballad with a mainly piano based accompaniment shines light on the perennial plight of the poor in developing countries who face flooding , drowning , loss of property and often death after sometimes relatively very minor rainfall. Under his management team of Deluge Entertainment and with the support of Rich & Rad this is a song sang in tribute to the flood victims in recent Accra floods and the victims of floods everywhere especially in the motherland ( Africa ).

Says Knii ….” often when it begins to rain , that is the time when privileged families sleep the most in their cosy houses ; that is the time when lovers cuddle together in their warm beds ; we easily tend to forget that just across town is a different society with a different experience …. indeed that is the time when the masses of our people have to wake and stand up in corners , bail out flood waters entering their rooms , and deal with lost property and lives …. sad . It is time we improve housing and town planning , sanitation , waste and plastic disposal , etc etc … “
“Really , a change in approach must start now with us the people and with government “.
Let’s listen , share this song and help make that change . We can’t afford to lose more lives !
