It is about that time of the academic year again as the Inter-Hall Christian Fellowship (IHCF) is welcoming all freshers to campus in the love and peace of God under its perennial festivity, #Akwaabafest.
Akwaabafest is a festival of music, drama, spoken word, intercession and the undiluted Word with the common goal of welcoming freshers to a new phase in life; specifically to the KNUST campus.
The broader periscope this festival is looking through has extended its branches to accommodate continuing students by welcoming them also to a New Academic Year in a like manner. Simply put, this festival is targeted at every single person on the KNUST campus and beyond.

Samini Pays Tribute To Kofi Annan, Calls On Government To Consider His Talk On Mar!juana Legalization
Samini, celebrated Ghanaian Musician has also joined several voices to pay tribute to Kofi Annan, Former UN Secretary General who passed away few days ago, according to reports.
Samini in a radio interview says, “he (Kofi Annan) did his best for Ghanaians and humanity with his humanitarian activities. He came across as a humble Ghanaian who made a huge influence on the globe. For such a man to pull international presence with his funeral defines the weight and his command over the world”.

Samini however added that, “in Kofi Annan’s last days before he death, he made a statement that Africa needs to look into the decriminalization and legalization of marijuana. For a learned person like him who was once the World’s President who was still active and very, very sane before he died comes to confirm what I’ve also been advocating for, the legalization of marijuana for commercial and economic use,” he concluded.

Contemporary Highlife singer, KK Fosu latest single ‘Lovers Rock’ looks to heat up music charts, and possibly win new fans, with the help of Adina.
The singer debuts his new song, “Lovers Rock,” which is set to be premiered nationwide on radio stations.
In a statement about the song, KK Fosu gushed about the track. “The song is about pure heart is which is hard to buy with money”, he said.
“I’ve put a lot of love and energy into making this single special. I hope my fans can feel it, he continued. We always feel things when we listen to KK Fosu sing.
“I chose Adina because of her style, and I wanted to bring a flavor of the highlife and that of the R&B feel. The music is really, really good,” the award winning singer continued about why he chose Adina.

Soaring Higher; Joe Mettle Wins Souls For Christ At UK Gospel Festival
Hands were lifted, feet were moved, voices were drowned in joyous praise and souls were won to Christ. This was the sum effect of the man who needs no introduction to gospel music ministry and captivating performances, Joe Oscar Mettle.
In a fashion very typical of him, he wowed the mammoth crowd which gathered at the 2nd edition of ABNTV Gospelfest at the Trinity Baptist Oasis House in Croydon, London.
ABN TV Gospelfest started last year as a flagship thanksgiving gospel concert to celebrate the goodness of God and foster community worship within the London Christian fraternity.

This year’s event saw a return of one of Ghana’s most celebrated gospel music icons, Joe Mettle, together with Nigeria’s heavyweight Gospel great Sammie Okposo, Afrogospel star performer Andrew Bello and the sensational gospel girl band Shekinah.
Patrons also had the opportunity of witnessing some new upcoming gospel artists alongside the main ministers for the evening.
In an interview with red carpet host Akosua Dwomoh Fokuoh, Sammie Okposo who opened the evening with an electrifying worship and praise from his popular repertoire said, “ African Gospel Music had come of age and I am excited that ABN is pushing the frontiers with Gospelfest”.
Sammie started off with ‘Yaweh have your Way’ a soul inspiring worship song then got the crowd into a spirit filled frenzy with ‘Marvellous thing and Everybody look”. After him new acts Adwoa Armah, Daniel Dadson, Joseph Matthew and Checko Ankrah took turns to bless patrons for the evening. Shekinah was at their very best with a performance of their two new singles ‘Change Me’ and ‘I will wait’. The evening was changed into a new gear with Andrew Bello’s electrifying performance that had the old and young dancing.
The evening was crowned with 2 hours of eclectic performance from the headline for the evening Joe Mettle, who took the crowd on a journey of worship, praise, anecdotes, encouragements, testimonies and more. With his vast repertoire, the crowd worshipped, cheered and danced.
The auditorium erupted with excitement when he performed his current hit track ‘Bonoo ni’. The highlight of the evening was when Joe shared his testimony on how he was prevented from travelling to the UK at 16 years by his God mother Apostle Lyanne Koffi and the profound impact the decision had on his growth and ministry. Joe Mettle prayerfully weaved in an altar call, which saw 8 people give their life to Christ.
Some lucky patrons also took home prizes which included A free air ticket to Ghana, 50 inch 4K TV set, Samsung Galaxy Note9, Hamper from sponsors and many more. A VIP reception with Joe Mettle was held for premium ticket holders who had an upclose and personal time with the gospel music icon after the event.
