I’m Not Moved By Your Opinion – Sista Afia Replies Godwynn

Sista Afia And GodWynn
Sista Afia And GodWynn

Days ago, singer Godwynn was in the news for choosing the “Sponsor” hitmaker, Ebony Reigns over our very own “Jeje” queen, Sista Afia as the most influential female artiste, currently.

Sista Afia, who seems not bothered about this comparison has come out to comment on GodWynn’s opinion.

Check Out : God made me famous not juju – Lil Win

In an interview with Sista Afia on Black Legendary TV, the “Pass You” singer says she isn’t moved by his (GodWynn) opinion because these are the things that make up the entertainment industry.

I am so cool hearing his opinion. Honestly, I didn’t know about this until now and I’d say as a musician, it’s normal to be hearing such comparisons all the time and for someone like me, such things dont move me. This is so because, the moment I dedicated my life to do music, I got ready to accept such critics. Aside me understanding this side of the work, i also know these things make up an active entertainment industry and I’m grown pass these things that relate to my emotions. If Godwynn says he isn’t a fan today, i know he will be tomorrow. Sista Afia added

She further noted that, she is busily promoting her latest single titled “Pass You” which was released weeks ago before she left Ghana to U.K. and so far so good, the song is cooking hot on the airwaves which is another plus to her and the entire Ace Kandi Records team.

GodWynn on the other hand will soon release his much awaited single titled “Eazy”, which was produced and mastered by multiple award winning sound engineer, Kaywa of Groovezone Studios.

Stop chasing Hit Songs and do Good Music

Enock Agyepong
Enock Agyepong

Music is business and it is not all about making hits especially in a system where most hits go waste in terms of monetary value.

Check Out : Brella – Play You Gala (Ebony Reply)

Many of our artist today are searching for hits because they believe without a hit they can’t make it in the industry but that’s completely false. The truth is there is no formula to making a hit song and even experts till date don’t know how hit songs come about. Fact is only a few artists will make a hit song so why waste your time chasing one.

Unfortunately majority of the hit songs we produce in Gh today are useless songs and do not make any impact when they cross our borders and I believe this is as a result of the way our industry is moving in no direction.

Over the years some greedy DJs have collected monies aka Payola from artist that produce useless songs and have played these useless money induced songs to become acceptable by listeners by force so the average listener cannot even tell what a good song is.
You watch Music videos on TV and those who can afford are those that do mediocre songs and after a while our people accept mediocrity as perfect and that is where we are today.
Most of the songs that our people are accepting as hit songs now are so useless you can’t do anything with it but you can’t blame their sense of judgment after it has been reduced to that level.

My point is a bass guitarist in Ivory Coast and a Saxophonist in Senegal is making a lot of money so why can’t we realize that music is business that goes beyond just hit songs.

My little advice is keep doing good music so that when you get your dream Hit Song it will not be classified as a useless Hit Song.

God made me famous not juju – Lil Win

Lil Win
Lil Win

Ghanaian comedian and musician, Kwadwo Nkansah known in the showbiz circles as Lil Win has denied rumors circulating in the media that he is cultist.

Speaking to Ohemaa Woyeje on Adom FM’s ‘Work and Happiness, the ‘ladder’ hit maker said God is the source of his success.

Check Out : E.L – Namaway (Feat. Stonebwoy)

Prayer fused with patience, according to Lil Win, if mastered will lead everyone to their door of triumph.

“It is God who blesses man. Ghanaians know I am a good person. It is not Voodoo. I am not an occultist. Man can’t lead another man into stardom only God. If you are patient you will have your day. You don’t need to envy anyone. If God gives you two years and you remain humble he will extend it…” he explained.

He recalled how he was denied his first role in the movie industry but persisted until the director gave him a chance which eventually led to his stardom.

“I use to sell shoes, polythene bags; I never thought I will be a star. They told me I won’t succeed before my first big movie. There were a lot of stars present. I only wanted a free role. I was given the opportunity after I persisted…”

“Pastors prayed for me and told me I will be a star. Without God, I would have been a criminal. I thank him for the blessing. I don’t listen to people. I look forward to great things. If you give up, you won’t succeed…” he advised.
