Work Hard, Die Stupid

Enock Agyepong
Enock Agyepong

Death is inevitable and we only live long only to die eventually.

When you are young you have the energy to work hard to take care of yourself and your family but when you are old you do not have the same energy to even walk.
Old age comes with weakness and sickness and the only way we can survive will be on monies we saved during our young and hard working days.

Check Out : Ebony – Turn On The Light (One Dread Riddim) (Prod. by Beatz Dakay)

One of the importance ways of surviving is through our pension scheme and that is only if we were able to work and pay during our working years. Have you thought of those who never had the opportunity to work and pay?
Unfortunately we have a compulsory pension scheme which only finds ways and means to mismanage the monies workers put there and they go unpunished.
In fact ssnit has been scandalous from day 1 and the latest scandal of it using $72million on a software is no news. We should only hope that those found guilty will be made to return the money.

People contribute and Die before attaining the pension age and even those who live long enough only receive peanuts and it’s nothing to write home about.
They only frustrate you in your old age and your only option is to die before your time.
Old age like I said comes with weakness and sickness so in other countries they put in place health insurance schemes that takes care of their old folks and most of our Ghanaians who travel abroad go and work at their Old Age homes taking care of their Olumen and Oluwomen.

In Ghana when you grow old and become sick it is the soul responsibility of your family and if they can’t afford to take care of your sickness you only die before your time and it’s no news.

Fact is we will all grow and eventually die so why don’t we as a Nation collectively think of how to secure ourselves when we eventually grow old and weak.
Our leaders should stop being myopic in their thinking, worker at ssnith should also stop thinking of ways and means to rob the few contributors so we dont live and work hard and Die stupid.

I never said I would walk around nak’d – Stephanie Benson rebuts!

Award winning international Jazz Singer, Stephanie Benson annuls social media speculations that she said wouldn’t mind walking naked.

“I never said I was going to walk around naked. I was on a television interview with Berla Mundi on GhOne TV talking about breast cancer. I told her it was a medical condition I had to deal with, I had to have lifesaving surgeries which included having a mastectomy, the complete removal of my breast tissue and later a reconstruction of breast and nipple. I said I was not shy showing her because I’m not ashamed of my body. I had performed a dance on a London Theatre stage as Josephine Baker who was the very first black exotic Dancer.

Those were my comments…….then she asked if I would willingly show her and the world my breast for medical purposes I would be ok with it, and I said I don’t mind. The word Breast Cancer scares people. I would want people to know there is life after Cancer….those were my words in response to her questions concerning breast cancer. But my words got misconstrued by some blogs; and they went on to misquote me that I said I was gonna walk around naked. That’s not true”, Stephanie Benson rebuts.

The ‘false publications’ have been circulating on social media platforms over the weekend; so she had to respond and rebut such reportage. She urges her fans and the general public to ignore such untrue statements.

Stephanie Benson recently recently a new single “One More” featuring Samini, with over 100,000 plus views on her official YouTube Channel.

Toby Tabu – Nana Yaa (Official Video)

Toby Tabu – Nana Yaa (Official Video)

Currently known for the Ebony-featured music video for ‘Ghana Lady’ broadcasted on 4Syte TV and ETV, Toby Tabu has boldly replaced his booming music career in Denmark with a new Afrobeat project in Ghana. Managed by CSA Ghana (Creative Strategic Agency) Ghana, the pioneer of reggaetón and dancehall in Denmark, Toby Tabu is deemed to reach further hights with his art in Ghana.

Toby Tabu’s latest release ‘Nana Yaa’, set in a dream world. Toby Tabu wakes up after a wild night and realizes that the lady he saw the night before is missing, he goes on a wild dreamy chase to find his ‘Nana Yaa’. Shot in Denmak, the scenes were filled with Toby Tobu’s real friends and musical colleagues in Denmark.

In Denmark, Toby Tabus record of achievements under the name ”Camilo & Grande” ranges from performing on top-level stages in Danish musical landscape to reaching millions of views and streams on platforms such as YouTube and Spotify. One single, ”Røgsignaler” was announced MTV Denmark’s ”Video of the Week” and reached 3 million streams on Spotify, which granted the artist a gold record. After pioneering Danish reggaéton and modern dancehall in Denmark, this artist has now re-shaped his musical focus and created the project, ‘Toby Tabu’.

In December, Toby Tabu peformed at 3 concerts including a live performance at national TV station GH1 and a live performance at ”Ghana Music Week” in O2 Music Arena, London. Since then he accompanied Stonebwoy on his Ghana tour where he supported several shows with live performances. TigoTribe Dansoman and Tidal Rave 2017 in Kokrobite were also live performances that sparked Toby Tabu further in the Ghanaian music industry.
Although being born and raised in Denmark, Toby Tabu’s connection to Ghana has always been very strong. He grew up with the son of Afro Moses in a small town in Denmark and Afro Moses often preached and inspired about Ghana and the musical life of Ghana. With inspiration from contemporary Afrobeat and Dancehall musicians combined with traditional Highlife this brand new project aims to inspire and visualize the ground breaking importance of realizing dreams regardless of nationality, ethnicity and religion.

Therefore, Toby Tabu believes that instead of drawing from the potential already existing in the Ghanaian music industry he finds it more valuable to contribute to the industry by staying in Ghana and working with ”The Kings of Afrobeat”.

The song which has sold almost 2 million copies worldwide is also featured on the singer’s chart topping album “Divide” and was co-written by FuseODG with Killbeatz handling production.

Much like the role Skepta played in linking Wizkid to Drake, rumour has it that FuseODG who is good friends with Ed Sheeran introduced Killbeats to the grammy winner on his last trip to Ghana where they collaborated on a number of songs inuding “Bibia Beyeye”.

We hope to see more of this in the industry because Team work makes the dream work!

Glorifying Money and Ignoring Achievements

A Kid was asked by his teacher who he wanted to be when he grows up and the Kids response was “A CRIMINAL”

Growing up all we wanted to do was to make money and everything that influenced that up bringing was influenced by the things that was connected to the making of money.

Check Out : Ras Kuuku – KpaGbum Style (Prod. by Spanky Beatz)

Living in the village the ambition and advice was go to school and leave the village for the big city in other words Accra and eventually end up Overseas since the only people the village folks respected was Pimpines Bogers from Germany.
The Respect also given to bank managers from the village was enviable and all these were influenced by the monies they flaunted.

One advise was that the only way to riches was through education. I was therefore shocked when I grew up and realised that most of the very rich people in the world were non graduates and useless footballers like the old folks use to say.
Football and other professions were for useless people and Bank managers were the Dream career every parent wished for his child.

Money is difficult to come by and very hard to spend especially when you have no idea where your next meal is coming from.

We indeed Glorify Money and as long as one has money nobody really cares how that money was made, we therefore end up having illegal drugs dealers becoming church elders and Decons just because they have money and we throw away morals to the dogs.

The work a bank does is to keep people’s monies for them and so those monies do not belong to them. They are caretakers of those monies so how can one classify a bank manager as a rich man. How can you be called a rich man for keeping peoples monies for them.
Their income comes from the interests that comes from the loans they give out and other charges for keeping peoples monies.
I therefore get very concerned when I see them putting up huge buildings and buying luxurious cars for their workers with people’s monies.
All these extravaganza is as a result of the way society glorifies money and not Achievements.
In other countries a rich car manufacturer Boss will use one of the cheapest cars from his company and keep his monies safe in a bank but a Ghanaman worker in the same company will use his life savings to buy the most expensive car in that company and go hungry so that when he comes back home he can be called a rich man.

In other countries when someone enters the system and start throwing money about the first thing that happens is the security agencies will start investigating him to know the source of his income and certify it’s legitimacy but in GH the same person will never be investigated but rather have everyone singing his praise and everyone going to him to get some of that money if possible. Nobody cares to know how he or she came about the monies being thrown about. The worse part is when those who are suppose to investigate them are bought and you know how a bought mind is a Useless mind.

Criminals living luxurious lives become role models and Professors and Doctorate Degree holders living modest lives become laughing stock.

Like I said money is difficult to come by and if it’s yours you won’t throw it away anyhow but if it’s people’s monies why not, you will fly them about so you can be tagged as a rich man.

Let’s learn to Glorify achievers and stop worshipping money so our kids can have good role models.

Peoples Monies is not Your Monies.
