Korsah Explores New Sound With “Hater”

Processed with VSCO with b4 preset

An alternative name for Ghanaian rapper Korsah would be “King of experiments.” The artist who hails from Atonsu in the Ashanti Region, despite churning out Afro-Hip-Hop sounds, tends to play with other genres such as Afro trap and sometimes drills. Songs like “Snapchat,” “Show Something,” and “Fa Ma Me,” attribute to his experimentation.

Staying true to his nature, Korsah dropped yet another Afro-hip-hop track with a new twist. The song titled “Hater,” was released on October 28, 2022. The song sees Korsah take a new path as a songwriter opening up about his feelings towards an incident with a hater who was disgused as a friend.

Having taken a break from releasing songs to work on his songwriting craft, “Hater” is proof of his maturity as a songwriter. A notable feature of the song is its beat produced by Dominican producer RC Beats and 610Music boss, Kofi Sonny.

The banging single was accompanied by dope visuals which feature Korsah enjoying a ride and dance with his label boss Kofi Sonny.

Larruso’s “Sounds from the Slums” LP is OUT NOW!

Larruso
Larruso

Ghanaian dancehall and young afrobeats star, Larruso has released his 7-tracked sophomore LP dubbed “Sounds from the Slums” under label, Jadon Shatta Entertainment.

Listen to “Sounds from the Slums” here; https://onerpm.link/Larruso-SFTS

The young artist on his sophomore project connects with his past with a collection of songs that are profoundly personal and address issues like disappointments, poverty, hate, love, sex, betrayals, violence, and mental health.

On “Make a Way”, produced by Gigz Beatz, Larruso expresses his loneliness, isolation, and grudge with his ambitions during the COVID-19 era which had a toll on his mental health and it took his virtual performance on “From Milan With Love: Next Gen” Virtual Concert hosted by Roc Nation, Tidal, AC Milan and DJ Khaled to overcome his fears and achieve his goals. He is thankful to all forces who are positively behind his progress. He further fused his sexual fantasy and prowess with his nightlife on his second and third tracks “Midnight”, produced by Gigz Beatz, and “Inbox”, produced by Jusino Play.

Listen to “Midnight on Boomplay here;

The young dancehall star believes everyone needs a chance and he is optimistic he will be ready for his big blow when it’s time. “DO NOT SIT STILL THERE’S STILL MORE TIME”; hard work is the hallmark of the singjay. He prays on this new song, “11:11”, produced by CaskeysOnit. On “Don’t Shout”, Larruso channels his afrobeat dexterity on an amapiano instrumentation as he believes he is God’s favorite child and he is blessed beyond expectations and will succeed despite the prevailing challenges that befall him. On the caskyesonit production, the young artiste further calls out all debtors to pay up. CaskeysOnit produced “Don’t Shout”.

On CaskeysOnit’s production, Larruso goes rude and reclaims his position as the dancehall wonderkid in Africa. “War” is to reassure every opponent that he is still a dancehall head who is experimenting with afrobeats. This is to clear the air on rumors about him switching to afrobeats totally.

On his last song, “Believe”, produced by ASWXG, Larruso inspires and reminds himself to believe in the dream and keep focusing regardless of the struggles he faces. This is an ode to himself and to generations after to never lose faith and they should be reminded to keep fighting till they win.

Larruso is keen on telling his stories through music as he develops his sound and we are here to support his journey through.

Di Woho Ni: Strongman Partners With Ministry Of Sanitation, The World Bank and GAMA PCU To Reduce Open Defecation In Greater Kumasi

Strongman - Di Woho Ni Artwork
Strongman – Di Woho Ni Artwork

Hip Hop act Strongman has teamed with the Ministry of Sanitation, The World Bank and GAMA PCU to embark on a project to curb the rise in open defecation in the Ashanti Region. In the wake of the time where Kumasi is leading in the number of open defecation, it is in light of this that the parties came together to help build toilets at affordable prices for households.

As part of his social responsibility to the people of the region and Ghana, the musician has composed a theme song for the project titled ‘Di Who Ni’, which features singer cum producer Apya.

The project calls out to people living in low income areas with a 70% subsidy of the cost of household toilets to make the capital cost of accessing the toilets affordable to the low income residents. The beneficiary Assemblies include eight Metropolitans/Municipal Assemblies (MMAs) of the Greater Kumasi Metropolitan Area, comprising Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Asokwa, Oforikrom, Old Tafo, Suame, Kwadaso, Ejisu and Asokore Mampong Municipal Assemblies.

Having sighted as the mouthpiece of the youth of Greater Kumasi with his art and music, it was only prudent that Hip Hop act Strongman pens down a song that elaborates the details on this project to help reach the masses.

In due time, Strongman will be embarking on a tour to visit neighbourhoods in the region to propagate and educate them on cleanliness and how this project is beneficial in the development of the country. For more information on the project, Call: 0207811616

Song is produced by Apya.

Liya – Skalala (Izz Going)

Liya - Skalala (Izz Going)
Liya – Skalala (Izz Going)

Humans have a plethora of things to express about themselves, and being so strictly defined does not help with that. Confining yourself to a particular niche limits your forms of expression and denies the world something that “could have been”.
Liya’s new single, Skalala, is a far throw from her former projects, but it was selected because Liya wanted to express herself differently, to show the public a different side of her.

Alari, being Liya’s first EP, projected a certain energy. It gave us spiritual, traditional, and strong vocals. But that is not all that Liya is about. Liya is fun, goofy, funny, and energetic. We want to introduce the public to this version of Alari. Did you know that is actually her name? As much as we had other song options, we picked Skalala because it is a fun song. We picked fun.

When you listen to the single, Skalala, you can get a variety of meanings, but the message Liya is trying to pass across is that sometimes, we just need to forget our problems and have a bit of fun, which the song helps you do, focus on getting your affairs in order and making your “paper”. Whichever one you get while listening, just have fun with it.

Liya is a very determined artist who would do anything possible to achieve what she needs out of a song. In the process of working with different producers, she has been able to tap into her different sides and find her strength in music. Kdream is the producer she worked with on Skalala. This is not their first rodeo. She has frequently worked with him and he is someone that understands her kind of music.
We are very glad to be sharing this song and this part of Liya with the audience.
