Some months back, there was a viral video circulating on social media of Shatta Michy who is the baby mama of Shatta Wale and Medikal. In the video, Michy was accusing Medikal of being a follow back to Shatta Wale and expecting him to mind his business.
In an interview on Okay Fm with Halifax Ansah, she was asked why she has been misfiring her missiles. In her response, she made it known that she was trying to send a message and the message was delivered to the right recipient. Would it have been right for her to apologize to Medikal? Well, not to her though as she know what she was trying to achieve. Checkout excerpts of the interview here :
Continuing a scorching summer, Stonebwoy recruits Russ for a brand new Official Remix of his global anthem “Life & Money,” available today via Def Jam Recordings. It pops off as the first collaboration between multi platinum chart-topping Atlanta rap phenom Russ and Stonebwoy, beloved Ghanaian superstar pioneer of “Afro- Dancehall”—an infectious blend of Reggae, Dancehall, and Fusions from Africa—with over 4 million followers on Instagram and over 3 million on Facebook.
Stonebwoy reups, recharges, and reignites “Life & Money” by welcoming Russ onto the track’s dancehall-fueled beat. He expands the original with a signature lithe and laidback verse, complementing the mood seamlessly. In the accompanying video, Stonebwoy and Russ turn up at a house party surrounded by friends. The stylized visual threads together scenes inside the house with performance vignettes shot against the backdrop of a cloudy gray sky. As such, it instantly captivates.
“Live & Money” serves as the opener of Stonebwoy’s epic 2023 album, 5TH DIMENSION. Upon arrival, it crashed the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Reggae Albums Chart in addition to gathering tens of millions of streams worldwide. Plus, it earned unanimous critical acclaim from DANCEHALLMAG and more. Right out of the gate, okayafrica.com raved, “5th Dimension is a rich representation of the expansion of Stonebwoy’s soundscape, the creative transition that has seen him go from a seasoned reggae and dancehall act to a mainstream act being prepped and primed for the global stage.”
As always, it hints at more to come from Stonebwoy!
Beyond “Life & Money” and “More Of You,” 5TH DIMENSION also includes “Therapy,” and “Far Away.” “Life & Money,” in particular, is a red-hot track showing off the potent fusion of reggae, hip-hop, Afrobeat, and trap talent that has made Stonebwoy one of Africa’s most important new young artists. Also featured on the 5D album are Shaggy, Mereba, and Davido, among others, plus world renowned multi-Grammy® winning Beninese-French artist Angelique Kidjoon 5D’s climactic closing track, “Manodzi.”
Stonebwoy is an award-winning superstar who has been placing the continent firmly on the musical map with international touring, standout collaborations, and hugely popular singles since 2012. He has duetted with international artists including Keri Wilson, Sean Paul, Trey Songz, Burna Boy, Alpha Blondie, and many more. Drake, the well-known American rapper, has acquired a one-of-a-kind and historically significant piece of hip-hop history.
The valued possession is none other than the gold, ruby, and diamond crown ring. This ring was worn by the late Tupac Shakur during his final public appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 1996.
The talented Canadian musician made headlines when he paid a whopping $1,016,000 for the legendary ring at a Sotheby’s auction. The ring’s initial estimated value was under $200,000, making Drake’s purchase a very exceptional and valuable addition to his distinguished collection.
This Sotheby’s auction, dedicated solely to hip-hop artifacts, was an important component of the celebrations marking the genre’s 50th anniversary.
Drake purchased Tupac Shakur’s symbolic ring on his “It’s All a Blur Tour” with 21 Savage. While the rapper kept fans guessing by teasing the release of his upcoming album, “All the Dogs,” exact specifics about its release date remain unknown.
Furthermore, Drake has remained active in the artistic realm, lately releasing a poetry book and a new song named “Search & Rescue.” He has collaborated with musicians such as J Hus and Young Thug, and he also made a guest appearance on Travis Scott’s “Meltdown,” which appears on the album “Utopia.”
As the hip-hop culture evolves, Drake’s significant commitment to preserving its rich tradition is significant and continues to attract enthusiasts and fans alike.

The moment of truth is finally here! Two of Ghana’s favourite rap artists, Amerado and Strongman, have released the much anticipated “Young and Strong” EP. This clearly illustrates Ghana Rap and Ghana Drill music in HD pictures!
It’s the first of its kind in the Ghanaian music industry, and we at Ghanandwom love it! We knew this would be a great project, but it’s even better than we ever imagined! More like a full-party playlist packed on one EP.
Let’s quickly dive into each song and know why we got addicted to them. Before we do that, we want to congratulate both labels for bringing up this record-setting idea! Now, let’s do this!
“Rap Is Still Alive” came out as a single from this project, and the buzz went haywire! The song had the first spot on YouTube Trends for over a week, and rap music lovers expressed their various opinions and commended both artists for their exceptional delivery! If you’ve not listened to that yet, Check it out HERE.
The song “LIFE” touches on an emotional topic we believe most hustlers can relate to. It talks about dreams, aspirations and the thirst for success. These rappers possess that storytelling ability which made a bold statement on this song. This is a day starter for us!
We took a huge jump onto the dancefloor with the next Ghana drill banger they call “Yonah”. This is the “Joy after the Pain” kind of song. After the backstabbing, discouragement and no hope, things turned out great regardless. This is for the winners and people celebrating their achievements. You’ll relate to the lyrics!
Another Ghana Drill banger follows up! They call this “Wobesu,” which means “You’ll Cry”. We thought “Yonah” was our favourite, but this song adds more to the EP! The bounce, the lyrics and the witty flows are everything! You’ll love this one!
Finally, they ended it all with “Mea Me Sika,” which means “It’s My Money”. With this, you know what to expect when you pay attention to their approach to topics like this. This song goes free, wild and carefree! A perfect party song that’ll get you goofy and proud!
CONCLUSION: Every song on the EP hits differently, and we can boldly say Ghanaian Rap and Ghanaian Drill music is fully alive and active! Enjoy a great EP.
Spoiler Alert: The EP is already trending on Apple Music!

the Rastafari Council of Ghana Women’s Commission, the Women’s arm of the Rastafari Council of Ghana joined hands with two notable humanitarian organizations namely Connect the Youth Foundation and 99 Wings of Hope to bring to the children and mothers of Amanfrom Zongo, an activity dubbed “Healthy Community Drive”.
Recognizing the urgency of addressing the limited access to essential healthcare services of members of this community, the Women’s Commission saw the need to live the Rastafari Creed of caring for the sick and infants, as the best way to celebrate the 131st Earthstrong of His Imperial Majesty the King of Kings of Ethiopia, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Elect of God, Emperor Ras Tafari Makonnen Woldemikael Haile Selassie I.
